The use of modern materials makes a statement about the hotel - here the workdesk is in the bedroom. Click to see how traditions live on elsewhere.

Detail in the stalls with lighting provide by recessed light with vase of flowers!

Some of the most curious use of design talent, producing the most dramatic spaces, are in unexpected areas. Lighting is especially creative - here is the lighting in a toilet stall. Click to see more.

Bar showing the temporary wheelchair access ramp

Suprisingly there is no fixed access for those with disabilities in the front areas of the hotel, instead a temporary ramp is used when required. Click to see another view.

Holiday Inn, Thames Ditton
The hotel has a small gym. The outstanding feature within this fitness centre is the electric massage chairs that are provided. The centre is not intended to compete with the major health club facility a few yards up the road but it is enough for the fit traveller to keep a regime up whilst away from home.

The remaining public areas include very well laid out meeting and conference facilities. There is a Mac computer provided for public use.
"This hotel provides a welcome addition to the area which is notably underprovided for by the hotel industry."
On the divide between Kingston and Thames Ditton, although closer to the latter, this hotel provides a welcome addition to an area that is notably underprovided by the hotel industry. The area probably also needs a good four star or even a five star in the an area which is close to airports, stately homes, universities, race courses and other attractions - as well as fast and easy access into central London. There is also a wealthy local population not well-served by local facilities. However, the innovative food offering is a pointer to the recognition of this local market by the owners. Given the hotel's good contemporary design, well trained staff and its location, it is likely that this hotel will thrive.
